Toi Moana is seeking a person who has significant experience in resource management policy, planning and building relationships with Māori to join our Toi Moana whanau as Pou Whainga.
**Te āhuatunga a te tūranga** | About the role**
As Pou Whainga, you will move between significant Kaupapa and provide both sound strategic and detailed advice to senior staff and councillors. In particular, there is a high expectation that this role works closely with other key staff on the Resource Management Reforms, the Local Government Review and support Council's Māori Partnership Programme.
Furthermore, you will be central to coordinating information relating to Kaupapa Māori issues across teams in council involved in the planning and regulatory space and a key adviser in support of Council teams across the organisation, reporting to the Tumu Herenga Tangata - General Manager Strategic Engagement.
**Ō pūmanawa** | Your skills and experience**
To be successful in this role, you must have a relevant tertiary qualification with a minimum of 7 years' experience in local government, have a sound understanding of resource management, Kaupapa Māori policy development, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a history of experience working with Māori.

We manage the effects of people’s use of freshwater, land, air, and coastal water.
