**About the Company**:
The company currently has 11 operational aircraft supported by more than 35 Loader trucks capable of loading and spreading different fertilizer types across different regions in NZ. A complete Engineering department maintains aircraft and manufactures specialised aircraft parts.

**About the Role**:
The Operations Manager - Ground and Flight Assets is responsible for leading a diverse team to manage Aerowork's operations.

You will ensure the continuous availability and efficiency of Aerowork's ground assets, managing and driving flight operational efficiencies supported by the Chief Pilot and providing customer support including marketing and dedicated sales efforts derived from Aerowork's operational capabilities. All Loader Truck drivers, dedicated Truck engineers and customer support and admin staff report into this position.

This department, delivers and oversees the delivery of all operational and customer interfacing/admin functions while keeping all ground-based assets in continuous working order. This includes managing aircraft movements between bases in coordination with aircraft engineering department and chief pilot, dealing with repairs, maintenance and asset management of vehicles to ensure uninterrupted service to the flying jobs on farms and keeping our hangars and buildings functional.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Managing aircraft movements between bases in coordination with aircraft engineering department and chief pilot.
- Manage all Loader Trucks and Utes dealing with repairs, maintenance and asset management of all vehicles to ensure uninterrupted service to the flying jobs on farms and keeping our hangars and buildings functional.
- Develop and implement preventative and asset management plans for vehicles.
- Manage the Loader Truck Drivers and coordinate their availability/rostering for Ag operations in coordination with pilots
- Management of sales and customer interaction processes, marketing efforts and administrative tasks.
- Manage budgets incl. financial accountability and purchasing processes across ground assets, vehicles, and vehicle maintenance engineering.
- Shape and execute strategy initiatives for aligning operational performance with business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with dangerous goods (and hazardous substances) + transport regulations and fuel management procedures.
- Be the holder (person in control) of the Transport Service License as per NZTA requirements for the management of ground vehicle transport services.
- Manage the coordination and mapping requirements of aerial spreading jobs.
- Be a key player in promoting Safety Management working closely with the Safety Manager to implement safety initiatives impacting operations.

Your ability to navigate complex systems, maintain regulatory compliance, and build strong relationships with stakeholders will be essential in steering the organization toward success.

**Ideal Skills & Experience**:

- Excellent leadership skills and experience leading a large operational team.
- Aviation industry knowledge.
- Strong financial acumen and business management knowledge.
- Experience in a Fleet Management and/or Asset Management role.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a wide range of competing priorities.
- Sound knowledge of legal requirements for vehicle roadworthiness and fuel transport.
- Be able to lead by example to provide clear expectations and direction, including performance management, conflict resolution and corrective action.
- Knowledge of CAA and WorkSafe (NZTA) rules and compliance requirements.
