We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Specialist for one of our clients in Auckland, New Zealand.

**Short Description**:
Suppose your passion is to work with base Infrastructure, Telco Cloud Build. Then this role is for you.

**Role and Responsibilities**:
For base infrastructure in the exchange building:

- Discussions with design team to choose equipment location.
- Then talking to Critical environments to check location is acceptable.
- Iterating as required to confirm location of equipment.
- Power etc requirements formulated, specified, then applied for and signed off.
- Specifying physical build required and arranging designs as needed.
- Organising quotes and issuing POs to get the metal work fabricated.
- Dealing with site issues uncovered during construction
- eg. Service companies lifted floor tiles in MDR and uncovered a sprinkler pipe in the way. Working with critical environments to get pipes moves and underfloor cleaned. e.g. Electricians discovered a surprise lack of power ability at MDR, organising the electricians to quote, getting approval from 2 PMs for funding, raising PO split across 2 projects for remediation.
- Dealing with Downers to get power feed to the cabinets, specifying, arranging quotes, raising purchase orders
- Tie-cable expansions between floors.

For Compute build:

- Lots of preplanning, forecasting, resource engagements
- The need to understand each of the Silo’s and what they need, and in which format, to be able to action a request
- Creating Server and switch deployment layout within cabinets - so Entelar can install them in the right place
- Ordering PDUs for power units
- Fibre and cabling ordering, optics ordering
- Problem solutioning - we need 4 more servers but have not free switch ports, and the lead time for equipment is 6 months
- Dealing with the vagaries - e.g. Entelar can't get the right labelling tape in NZ, so helping source that so they can keep going.
- Support CMN team to get management switches logically in and ILOs cabled.
- Provide tables of servers IP addresses. Serial numbers and passwords from Entelar to Graham Carter for discovery of servers
- Move on to server cabling (high speed) and design and contract so Entelar can do the physical work.
- Dealing with the many vagaries encountered getting CMN connectivity, and server cabling issues
- Then design and contract cabling outside the environment for Entelar to perform. Border switches, connections to Netscout PFS etc

For Telco Cloud Build:

- Working between the silos of skills. For example - One of the build team have issues with firewall or proxy connectivity. David talks with the right people to find the change request, identify the change required, fix it with the needed IP addresses, get it actioned to fix the problem.
- Regularly need to look at the firewalls and the switches, so that requests accurately ask for what a specialist team needs to do.
