**Cultural Health Worker - Based in Critical Care**
Health New Zealand - South Canterbury, Timaru Hosptial, Permanent Part Time - 0.5 FTE
- Monday to Friday hours between 8am-5pm

**About the Role**
Pukenga Atawhai Māori, Cultural Health worker works as part of the Critical Care team under Clinical Direction that provide a range of diagnostic, technical, therapeutic interventions including Te Whare Tapa Wha, and direct cultural care and support services to Takata Whaiora Whanau, Hapu & Iwi. This role will work collaboratively with all health professionals as part of the wider Critical Care multi-disciplinary team, and Te Whatu Ora South Canterbury, in a way that is consistent with services vision and values. You may be required to work in other departments across Te Whatu Ora South Canterbury Hospital, Primary and Community Services.
**About you**
We are seeking applicants with a relevant cultural qualification and experience in Hauora or Māori Social sector and or community development.
Other Success factors this role includes;
- Knowledge of Tikanga and Māori social and community structures along with a proficient understanding of Te Reo Rangatira me nga Tikanga Māori
- Excellent ability to work within team environments in Clinical, Medical and Te Ao Māori settings.
- Developed relationships with Te Runaka o Arowhenua me Te Runaka o Waihao Maataa Waka ki Te Aitarakihi me Te Whare Mahana ki Manahuna
- Strong communication, analytical and social skills.
- Sound oral and written communication skills and computer skills and use of Microsoft tools

**Salary Band**
Step 3 of the PSA Allied Health Collective and or Group B Level 1 or 2 Health and Community works scale, depending on experience and qualifications.
