**About the Role**

The Primary Mental Health Clinician is a key member of the Mental Health Brief Intervention Service within Health New Zealand Primary Mental Health and Addiction Service - South Canterbury.

To role provides service for adults, who are referred by their General Practitioner / Nurse Practitioner / Practice Nurse, NGO or other Mental Health Service, with mild to moderate mental health issues. Initial assessment will be required to determine a treatment plan in conjunction with the person referred. Interventions are to be focused, specific and short term.

**About you**

This role suits someone who enjoys working within a proactive team environment, who is well organised and with excellent interpersonal and communications skills. The person must be able to work alongside and collaborate with a range of health professionals, leading on initiatives and achieving desired outcomes.

An in depth understanding and ability to implement a range of treatment modalities in required. Additionally, the person will also have the following;
- Current APC in their profession
- A Post Graduate mental health qualification, would be desirable
- The right to work in New Zealand
