**Tenei turanga - About the Role**:
As an Intelligence Analyst, you will build your knowledge and expertise in one of the many key areas of responsibility for MBIE and the New Zealand government. You will write reports and build connections to inform decisions and activities that will help New Zealand be protected from risks and realise opportunities to grow the country for us all. We are recruiting for positions across multiple teams, with roles working on supporting MBIE's dynamic regulatory environment, or working on national security issues.

We are a busy unit, operating in a high tempo and dynamic environment. Achievers in the Intelligence roles are resilient, enthusiastic self-starters, whose excellent communication skills, sound judgement, critical thinking, and confidence will ensure they're a great team fit.

As a member of MBIE Intelligence you will develop intelligence products and services for a wide range of customers from leadership teams to frontline staff. These products and services contribute on both a tactical and strategic level, to inform the debate on priorities, policy and legislative issues and responses.

To do this effectively you must be comfortable in your ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders that ensure your customers get the intelligence services they need in a timely manner.

**Skills and Experience Required**
- Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving approach.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships.
- Ability to quickly assimilate new information or areas of work.
- A collaborative and action-oriented approach.
- Ability to adapt within a dynamic environment.
- Good initiative and sound judgement.

The following may be an advantage:

- A tertiary qualification or comparable relevant experience.
- Previous experience with regulatory functions or law enforcement in the public sector.
- An understanding of intelligence and risk management within the public sector.
- Experience of handling sensitive or classified information.
