**Allied Team Manager - Te Whare Korowai**
- Facilitate a multi-disciplinary approach to service delivery, promoting advocacy and care.
- Create strong relationships with wider government and support agencies.
- Provide effective leadership and professional oversight to your team embodying the organisation’s values.
- On call - 1 week in 4, including weekends.
**About the organisation**
Te Whare Korowai Taangata o Kirikiriroa provides safe accommodation and support to homeless single adults. For 25 years, they have been steadfast, constantly adapting to meet the ever-changing demands of our society.
Working with some of the most vulnerable adults in Aotearoa, is no easy task, as guests struggle to find their place in a world that does not make sense to them. Many have medical, addiction or mental health issues, are disconnected from whaanau, are dealing with criminal justice or legal issues and are unable to navigate through the complexities of the social service system.
Te Whare Korowai offers an array of best practice care and professional support, 24/7, to help their guests on a journey towards independent living in the community once again. Taking a Te Ao Maaori approach, their kaiarahi also create connections back to whaanau and whenua for a more sustainable future.
**About the role**
Reporting directly to the Service Delivery Manager, you will inspire the Allied Services Team to realise Te Whare Korowai’s mission and vision.
This includes:
- Ensuring services are delivered in a manner that empowers and supports guests.
- Providing supervision, advice and guidance to the Allied Services team, ensuring professional boundaries are maintained and ethical practices observed.
- Representing the organisation during stakeholder interactions, networking meetings and, on occasion, as advocate or support for guests.
- Oversight and involvement in risk management.
- Fostering a safe, welcoming and supportive environment, upholding the values of the organisation.
- Working collaboratively across all services to identify opportunities for improvement and a more cohesive service delivery.
- Reviewing data and information, preparing reports and utilising management tools to ensure policies and procedures remain fit for purpose.
**About you**
- A tertiary qualification in health or social science with experience in mental health, addictions, or community support.
- Established relationships and networks in the wider health and social sectors.
- 5+ years’ experience leading people in challenging environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to empathise, understand and provide direction.
- Competent in Te Ao Maaori and Tikanga with an understanding of Hauora practices and models of care.
- Ability to empower and inspire your team to create a sense of camaraderie and pride.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, with a practical approach to resolving issues.
Due to the nature of the role and environment you will be working in, you must be able to undertake on-call activities, one week in four (including weekends). This is a 24/7 operation requiring support for the team when navigating serious incidents.
