**Mō tēnei mahi (About this job)**

We are looking for an experienced Kaiako to deliver our Te Ara Reo Māori programme using our Ako Whakatere methodology and techniques. This permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week) starts in November 2024.

Your role will include, but is not limited to, developing lesson plans, presenting material to tauira, addressing their needs, and assessing their progress. We encourage Kaiako delivering this programme to engage in rangahau (research) to enhance their teaching.

**Mōu (About you)**

You will be a confident conversational speaker of te reo Māori, possess a deep understanding of tikanga Māori, and be well-versed in teaching methods that inspire and motivate tauira who are beginning their journey in learning te reo Māori.

Ideally, applicants will have:

- A Diploma in Te Reo Māori or higher
- A New Zealand Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (NZCATT Level 5) or equivalent, or be willing to complete it within the first year of employment
- A National Certificate in Adult Literacy & Numeracy Education (NCALNE Level 5)
- A full and current NZ driver’s license

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
