Silky Otter is a New Zealand owned cinema chain with three locations; Orakei, Christchurch & Nelson with our next site opening soon in Ponsonby Central.

Far from your average movie theatre, Silky Otter is designed to change the way you enjoy movies.

This is a multi-faceted role that will see you running a 4-screen cinema with an in-cinema dining experience and a committed concierge team that will go above and beyond to offer the highest standards in customer service. This bustling boutique cinema is paired with a **60** seat full functioning restaurant managed by a Restaurant Manager. Our complex will be the talk of Auckland with staff and service second to none, focused on providing a fully immersive cinema experience from the moment tickets are booked through to when the film is finished.

Perfectly located in the hustle of Ponsonby Central, our location is opening soon.

We are looking for a Cinema Manager to lead all aspects of the cinema ensuring that the site is immaculately run, and the highest level of customer experience is consistently delivered.

**About the Role**:
This role is one of a kind, in a fast moving and entertaining industry that will constantly keep you on the edge of your seat. You will be the key point of contact for all cinema operations from liaising with studio partners, partnering with local businesses on marketing initiatives, driving staff to deliver excellent quality of service and interacting with customers daily. You’ll report directly to the Operations Manager for the complex.

The role will involve a range of responsibilities including (but not limited to):

- Oversee all day-to-day duties for the site including all back office administration, stock management and oversight of the maintenance and site standards
- **Staff management including rostering, payroll, training, and development**:

- Assist with successful delivery of the site budget and KPI targets
- Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and the adherence to all relevant legislative requirements
- Delivering exceptional level of customer experience across service and facility experience.
- On-going commitment for continuous improvement in all aspects of the cinema and restaurant operation.

**About You**:
You will be on trend and well informed, not to be confused with sitting behind a desk but from being actively involved in all aspects of the operation. To be successful in this role you will have a strong focus on your customers and your team; you will be able to provide a fantastic environment for all. We are truly looking for an ambitious go-getter that will take pride and ownership across all areas of the cinema operation and make the cinema a place that customers love to call their local.

To be considered for this role. You will need to demonstrate:

- At least 3 years of experience in the hospitality, retail and/or cinema industry
- A strong understanding and experience in business management including, budget control and KPI achievement
- Possess very strong customer service skills,
- A strong understanding of NZ Legislation across F&B, Alcohol, H&S and any other relevant compliance laws
- LCQ or General Manager’s Certificate preferred, but not required
- Experience in staff management across rostering and development with a clear understanding of relevant NZ employment laws
- Marketing and executing events and corporate bookings,
- Flexibility and adaptability and you are at ease ensuring customer needs are met within a fast paced, busy environment.

**Salary**: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
