Silky Otter is a New Zealand owned cinema chain with three locations; Orakei, Christchurch & Nelson with our next site opening soon in Ponsonby Central.

Far from your average movie theatre, Silky Otter is designed to change the way you enjoy movies.

This is a multi-faceted role that will see you running full functioning restaurant alongside a four screen cinema offering dine-in delivery of all food and drink for guests. This bustling boutique cinema and bistro will be the talk of Auckland with staff and service second to none, focused on providing a fully immersive cinema experience from the moment guests book through to finishing their meals.

Perfectly located in the hustle of Ponsonby Central, our location is opening soon.

We are looking for an Restaurant Manager to lead all aspects of the restaurant ensuring that the kitchen and restaurant are immaculately run, and the highest quality of food and service is consistently delivered.

**About the Role**:
This role is one of a kind, in a fast moving and entertaining industry that will constantly keep you on the edge of your seat. You will be the key point of contact for restaurant operations from liaising with suppliers and head chefs, helping curate menus for private functions and working alongside a Cinema Manager who will run all things cinema related. You’ll report directly to the Operations Manager for the complex.

The role will involve a range of responsibilities including (but not limited to):

- Overall responsibility and oversight of the kitchen facility and restaurant including its operations; from liaising with suppliers through to stock management.
- Staff management including rostering, payroll, training, and development
- Working alongside the Head Chef to Optimise cooking processes with attention to speed, quality and delivery
- Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and the adherence to all relevant legislative requirements
- Delivering exceptional level of customer experience across service, food & beverage and facility experience.
- On-going commitment for continuous improvement in all aspects of the restaurant operation.

You will be on trend and well informed, not to be confused with sitting behind a desk but from being actively involved in all aspects of the operation. To be successful in this role you will have a strong focus on your guests and your team; you will be able to provide a fantastic environment for all. We are truly looking for a go-getter that will take pride and ownership across all areas of the restaurant operation and make the complex a place that customers can’t wait to dine at again.

To be considered for this role. You will need to demonstrate:

- At least 3 years of experience in the hospitality industry
- A strong understanding and experience in business management including, budget control and KPI achievement
- Possess very strong customer service skills,
- A strong understanding of NZ Legislation across F&B, Alcohol, H&S and any other relevant compliance laws
- LCQ or General Manager’s Certificate preferred, but not required
- Experience in staff management across rostering and development with a clear understanding of relevant NZ employment laws
- Marketing and executing events and large scale bookings
- Flexibility and adaptability and you are at ease ensuring customer needs are met within a fast paced, busy environment.

**Salary**: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
