**About the Role**
As a Community Mental Health Nurse you will based in Hamilton but work across the Waikato community playing a key role supporting service users/ tāngata whaiora to maintain their health and mental wellbeing.
Day to day as a member of the multi-disciplinary team you will be working alongside tāngata whaiora and whānau in the community setting to reach their maximum mental health potential. You will need to build relationships with other health agencies for health promotion and to foster community engagement. A typical day will see you out visiting tāngata whaiora in their own homes and communities to deliver high quality mental health and addictions support.
If you are interested in working in a service with a Kaupapa Maaori philosophy, then this opportunity is also available.
There is no shift work or weekend work required for these roles as all are Monday to Friday between 8-4.30pm.

- Maintain your professional development to ensure your practice is current and evidence based.
- Practice nursing in a way that ensures it is person centred and recovery focused.
- Work to understand and build relationships within the community that you are working in.
- A commitment to support tāngata whaiora to transition back to primary services with the tools and resources they require.

**About you**
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
- A current annual practicing certificate with scope to work in the mental health sector.
- A current full driver’s license.
- The ability to be service user/tangata whaiora focussed.
- To be innovative and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team as well as autonomously.
- Have well-developed time management skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritise personal and team task.
- The ability to coordinate care and provide therapeutic interventions.
- Experience working within mental health and addictions service.
