**About the Role**

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Laboratory Assistant to join our Specimen Services team. This role is crucial in supporting the smooth operation of our laboratory and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Register patients, add tests, and provide access to results.
- Unpack and store laboratory consumables.
- Sort and input sample data accurately into the computer system.
- Interpret and process laboratory request forms.
- Check data for completeness and accuracy.
- Respond to telephone inquiries via our Lab line call centre.

**About you**

**Essential**:

- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand.
- Ability to maintain high professional standards aligned with the competence standards.
- Understanding of or willingness to learn the significance and obligations under _Te Tiriti o Waitangi_.
- Commitment to physical and mental well-being, with the stamina to meet role demands.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- A strong drive for excellence and personal accountability.
