We are looking for one or two people for the role of sole-charge, part or full-time, ideally with either a background in Automotive repair or restoration, or race car preparation / custom vehicle building, classic cars.

We are rebuilding / restoring several vehicles from the 1970’s & 1980’s, the bulk of the hard work has been done with the chassis either having been blasted and painted or new ones imported & the running gear rebuilt, or replaced.

The majority of the work will be on refurbishing our 3 classic CJ jeeps (late 1970’s and mid 1980’s mostly done) and 2 classic Lotus sports cars, as well as occasional routine maintenance on our delivery vans.

The jeeps are promotional vehicles that, while not show cars, do need to be finished to a reasonably high standard. The work environment is a clean, dry, with lots of storage areas, well-lit with a good range of equipment.

The Lotus have new Chassis, so its strip, refurbish or replace the rest (most of it is done and ready to install.

The position can be very flexible as long as progress is being made & may suit someone looking for a short-term position or single parent needing to work around school hours or a retired person look for some fun.

The successful applicant will have/be:

- Proven previous automotive industry experience.
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical components of vehicles.
- Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment (e.g. hoist).
- Punctual, with a great work ethic, honest & reliable.
- An eye for detail.
- Clean and efficient, with the ability to work independently.
- Possess a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work to a high standard with mínimal supervision & a flexible approach and attitude.
- Able to communicate effectively.
- A full NZ driver license.
- Must be able to drive manual (stick-shift) vehicles

We can be very flexible around hours and days worked. We are aiming for around 20-40 hours per week, which can be spread across the week as needed, weekend days are possible.
