**About the role**

Support and guide students throughout the Waikato region through our Trades Academy programme, which is a secondary-tertiary programme (STP) that provides young students with a broad range of learning opportunities in the agriculture sector.

Our focus is on successful and meaningful education, which means we:

- deliver primary industries learning in a relevant context
- work with students to encourage them to achieve NCEA Level 2 and Level 3
- increase retention of students in education
- assist students to successfully transition into further education, apprenticeships or employment.

In this role you would:

- Deliver quality Agriculture Trades Academy programmes by providing students with a consistent, dynamic, and valuable learning experience.
- Enable students to have the theoretical and practical knowledge to be set up for a career pathway in the agriculture sector.
- Ensure all student results, reviews and evaluations are completed promptly, while ensuring a coherent, safe, and valuable learning experience in accordance with programme requirements.
- Manage relationships with farmers, schools, and other key stakeholders.
- Tutor students as required.
- Perform the requirements of the position safely at all times while providing a safe learning environment for all students.

This permanent, full-time (40 hours per week Monday to Friday) and based in Hamilton East, in which a laptop, mobile phone and access to a van is supplied.

**Skills and Experience**
- Qualification or equivalent experience in agriculture/farming/primary industries.
- Experience in teaching, tutoring and assessment with proven ability to effectively deliver interesting informative programmes.
- Significant experience in customer service and stakeholder management, with proven ability to build, maintain and proactively manage relationships.
- Ability to guide, coach, and train others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
