**Position Summary**

We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable **tutor** to join our education team. The successful applicant will deliver lessons in **Dari**, **Persian**, **Quranic Studies**, and **Islamic Ethics (Akhlaq)** to learners of various age groups.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about education, culture, religion, and community service. Your work will contribute directly to preserving cultural identity, strengthening community values, and supporting the growth of our learners.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Tutoring & Instruction**
- Deliver clear, engaging lessons in Dari and Persian (grammar, reading, writing, comprehension).
- Tutor Quranic Studies with a Shi’a perspective, ensuring accuracy and appropriate teaching methods.
- Provide instruction in Islamic Ethics (Akhlaq) for various age groups.
- Develop lesson plans, tutoring activities, and educational materials.

**Learner Support & Engagement**
- Provide guidance and personalised support to students.
- Adapt tutoring methods to different learning styles and abilities.
- Maintain a respectful, inclusive learning environment aligned with Islamic values.

**Curriculum & Planning**
- Assist in curriculum development and continuous improvement of educational programmes.

**Community & Organisational Involvement**
- Participate in community events, cultural workshops, and educational programmes as needed.
- Collaborate with other tutors, volunteers, and management staff.
- Represent the Al-Rasool Foundation of Waikato professionally and uphold our values.

**Required Qualifications**

**Applicants must meet one of the following pathways**:
**Pathway 1 - Experience-Based**
- Proficiency in tutoring **Dari** and **Persian**.
- **Minimum 3 years of experience tutoring Quranic Studies with a Shi’a perspective.**

**OR**

**Pathway 2 - Qualification-Based**
- A relevant **Level 7 or above qualification** (e.g., Islamic Studies, Education, Religious Studies, Middle Eastern Languages).
- Overseas qualifications are accepted if relevant to the role.

**Preferred Skills & Attributes**
- Familiarity with classical Persian poetry (e.g., Hafiz, Rumi, Saadi).
- Strong communication and tutoring skills.
- Ability to engage students and create interactive lessons.
- Professional, reliable, and committed to community service.
- Respectful and knowledgeable about Islamic values and cultural sensitivities.
