**Salary**: $81,398 - $122,098

**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

We’re looking for two experienced senior communication advisors who are passionate about working with healthcare kaimahi, stakeholders and communities in the Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa region, and thinks innovatively about engagement with our diverse audiences.

You will be a core part of our talented communications and engagement team and work collaboratively on an exciting range of projects and communications to deliver health system, services and strategies for our local areas, alongside teams within the region and the broader Te Whatu Ora whānau.

Some of your duties will include but are not limited to:

- Developing communications plans to support local projects and initiatives
- Providing expert advice to Te Whatu Ora staff and teams in relation to communicating to internal and external audiences
- Anticipating and planning for emerging issues
- Identifying and writing engaging content for a range of local and national Te Whatu Ora channels
- Working with peers to ensure the voice of Maori and Pacific People are reflected in planning and delivery of services

Ideally one of our advisors will be based in Wairarapa, or able to travel there regularly. Our other advisor can be based at either Wellington or Hutt Valley.

The Communications and Engagement function provides strategic advice, communications and engagement planning to services operating within the Capital, Coast, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa area. Our local team works closely with specialist national teams while also being supported by a team of specialists in digital engagement, branding and design, and campaigns. Together we are involved in the execution of communications and engagement in a range of areas including;
- Communications planning
- Internal communications
- Content generation for channels and publications
- Media and community engagement
- Change communications
- Project support

**Moū - About you**

We are looking for someone who has:

- A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in a related area, or relevant workforce experience
- Experience in leading, developing and implementing communications and engagement strategies and plans
- Strong writing, editing and oral communications skills; demonstrated experience in tailoring messages to different audiences, and translating complex information into plain language
- Proven ability to build, maintain and influence strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Knowledge of tikanga Māori, te reo and Te Ao Māori world view
- Experience or empathy with diverse communities - for example (but not limited to) Pacific peoples, diverse ethnic and migrant communities or people with disabilities
- Strong critical thinking, judgement and decision-making skills; confident in decision making under pressure
- Effective project and time management; ability to multitask

Experience in or an understanding of the public sector would be beneficial.
