**Requirements**:

- Demonstrated experience in debate coaching or competitive debating (e.g. school teams, clubs, or educational institutions)
- Familiarity with New Zealand and international debate formats
- Excellent communication, logical reasoning, and critical thinking skills
- Strong teaching and classroom management abilities; capable of leading engaging, thought-provoking sessions
- Reliable, enthusiastic about debate, and skilled in mentoring students in argument development and teamwork

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Previous experience as a debate coach or adjudicator at schools or professional organisations
- Proven success in preparing students for regional or national debate competitions
- Understanding of NCEA, Cambridge, or IB curriculum is an advantage

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Coach students in Years 7-13 in debating skills, public speaking, and critical thinking
- Support and prepare students to participate in competitions and school debate team tryouts
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to help students improve
- Design and deliver dynamic lesson plans tailored to different levels of experience
