With the number of international students growing on our campuses in Auckland, we are looking for a Pastoral Care Officer to help ensure every student has the support they need to succeed

**About the role**

We want to ensure international students are provided with the best level of support during their study with us, through student orientation and inductions, ensuring all documentation is compliant, and most of all provide pastoral care and support at an individual level to meet the unique needs of these students.

The Pastoral Care Officer will report to the Operational Planning Manager and will manage the day-to-day tasks of the international compliance requirements with all internal and external policies and procedures, including The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice. Ongoing individual support for international students is also a key component of this role and will include facilitating one-on-one meetings with international students as well as ensuring adequate counselling and support services are accessible to all students. The role will be based out of our Auckland Central campus and will include support of our other Campuses where required


Some of your daily tasks in this role will include
- Meeting with international students to support with pastoral needs
- Verifying and checking of compliance documentation
- Monitoring and purchasing of student health insurance
- Planning and facilitating new student orientation
- Auditing documentation to ensure all enrolments are compliant
- Generating monthly audit reports for board reports
- Facilitating workshops to support international student learning

**About you**:
You are passionate about ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed and celebrate cultural diversity. You have good attention to detail and enjoy interacting with others. In addition, your background and experience will ideally include:

- Experience in working with international students, or similar
- Strong attention to detail
- Moderate technical skills in MS Word and MS Excel
- Group training experience in a multi-cultural environment
- Demonstrated commitment to represent and be a strong advocate for students
- Knowledge of education sector would be an advantage but is not necessary
