**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

Following a restructure of the allied health and nursing leadership at Kenepuru Hospital, we have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and passionate leader to step into a full time Allied Health team leader role.

Based at Kenepuru Hospital, this role provides day-to-day leadership and management for a busy multidisciplinary team who provides a range of allied health services across health of older persons, rehabilitation and surgical wards.

The focus of the role is to:

- Provide day-to-day, on the ground leadership for the Allied Health team,
- Ensure services are organised and delivered in a way that makes the best use of the resources we have
- Provide clinical leadership that supports safe and effective patient care
- Identify, lead and support quality improvement activities that achieve improved health outcomes and an improved experience for individuals, whānau and our wider communities
- Motivate and inspire others to perform to their best

**Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team**

The allied health team based at Kenepuru Hospital is a mix of new graduate to experienced team members from the following professional groups - Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-language Therapy, Social Work, Dietetics, Psychology and Allied Health Assistants. All team members pride themselves on their team dynamic and the high quality care they provide to patients and whānau. The team has a well-developed team charter, and is supportive of and well respected by nursing and medical colleagues as part of the wider multidisciplinary team.

This role is one of 11 Allied Health Team Leader roles within the Capital Coast Hutt Valley Inpatient Allied Health Service. There is a wealth of collegial support available to you across the district, as well as from Allied Health colleagues working in outpatient and community settings.

This role also works closely with 2 Allied Health team coordinators, the nursing and medical leadership teams, the professional leaders for each of the allied health professions, and the Allied Professions Leadership Team.

**Moū - About you**

You will be a qualified allied health clinician with a current APC who has a passion for leadership and clinical excellence. Ideally you will have direct people leadership experience, or can share with us how you have developed leadership skills through service development, quality improvement or clinical practice.

You will be passionate about the role of allied health and the impact that all our professions can have on improving equity of outcomes for our people. You will be someone who enjoys thinking creatively and who can support people through change. You will have a demonstrated commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi to proactively improve health outcomes for Māori.
