**What's this role about? He aha te ia o tēnei mahi?**
In this newly created role you will be responsible for implementing proactive and pre-emptive networking within the bank through practical work.
**What are we looking for? Tā mātou e kimi nei??**
You will have extensive knowledge of cloud platforms, modern SDN practice as well as implementing best engineering practices.
- Proven ability to help and motivate other team members in an Agile and/or DevOps environment.
- Strong effective verbal and written skills. Skilled at communicating complex information effectively to a range of different audiences. Effective presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to challenge persuade and influence.
- Experience working with Digital channels for mission critical services (i.e. Financial) preferred.
- Values automation and scripting over manual repetition; and shares and encourages others on the team to do the same.
- Self-sufficient in own work as well being able to guide engineers toward self-sufficiency.
**Required experience**:
- Subject matter expert on networking design, build, and general engineering practices; and works closely with the related teams to make sure these practices stay aligned with the best practices from the networking perspective.
- In depth experience with some aspects of Cloud and design principles accordingly.
- Experience and are confident in running large and complex operational projects independently
- Ability to design and implement new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
- Experienced with:
- Have a proven knowledge that encompasses many of the following areas: SDN, SD-WAN, VPN, firewall, direct connect, security
- Cloud networking including access into cloud networks, access within cloud networks, and access between cloud networks.
- Infrastructure-as-Code tools (such as Terraform, Ansible)
- Comfortable writing, using, and expanding use of scripts (using different languages/frameworks/modules)
