We are looking for an Assistant Cafe Manager to help lead the team in our busy Columbus Coffee Cafe in Hastings.

The person we are seeking will be well organised, have great attention to detail, while also having the ability to plan ahead. You will have a contagious passion for excellent coffee and food, while also having the ability to delight your customers with outstanding customer service.

This position reports directly to the Cafe Manager. You will be responsible for working on the floor as well as assisting to supervise the efficient and smooth running of the Cafe on a day to day basis. You must be highly organised with the ability to work unsupervised. You will be a natural leader of people.

Your responsibilities will extend beyond the usual Cafe duties. You will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the Cafe in the Manager’s absence. You will be organised and methodical in your approach to the job, with the ability to see the big picture and engage your staff accordingly. You must also demonstrate the ability to learn new skills. Strong communication skills and relationship management are essential. The administration details are all taken care of for you, so your job is to manage our team of amazing people and have fun while you are doing it.

Previous management/supervisor experience is not essential. Provided you have awesome communication and people skills, we will provide the necessary training for this position.

Our Cafe is locally owned and operated. Hours of work are daytime hours only, and rostered weekend and public holiday work is expected.
