**Be part of New Zealand’s largest hospital**:
- **A job with real purpose supporting our communities**:
- **Permanent, full-time, or part-time opportunity available within the Acute Gynaecology team**
This exciting position follows on from our successful pilot in the Women’s Assessment Unit and seeks to build on the quality and efficiencies already made. Specifically, the role seeks to improve the acute gynaecologic patient experience, with a key goal to decrease the wait time between patient presentation and decision/discharge. There will be a strong focus on equity for Màori and Pacifica, and identification of vulnerable patients that need to be cared for as a priority to ensure improved outcomes.
**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
We are currently looking for Clinical Nurse Specialists to join the Acute Gynaecology team, on a Permanent, full-time, or part-time basis. We seek to cover 10 hour shifts from 0800-1830 Monday to Friday, and 8 hour shifts Saturday to Sunday.
The position will be based primarily in the Women’s Assessment Unit at Auckland City Hospital, but will also follow, and support the patient group from their acute admission in the emergency department to Women’s Assessment Unit and admission to Ward 97.
Key to the role is the promotion of effective teamwork and collaborative relationships within the multi-disciplinary team and across health care settings to achieve best health outcomes. For example, acting as a point of contact for the Adult Emergency Department team and Gynaecology on-call team.
We anticipate the role developing over-time as the Nurse Specialists achieve competencies through mentorship and postgraduate education, and are keen to hear your future ambitions for the role.
With a professional reporting line to the Nurse Unit Manager, and clinical reporting to SMO, the Nurse Specialists will function with a large degree of autonomy to provide advanced assessment, nursing management and support for Gynaecology patients presenting acutely.
**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
- We are looking for individuals who have at least 5 years acute gynaecology nursing experience with proven ability to work autonomously, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

- You will be confident in making independent recommendations, liaising and collaborating with a range of people and teams.
