We currently have a part time vacancy to join our Social Worker Team based at Thames. The position is primarily based in the community but may include working in Inpatient ward at the Hospital. This is a 5 day/week service with hours between 8am - 4.30pm.

**Mōu | About you**
Required skills & experience you will need to be consider for this role:
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- psycho-social assessment and intervention
- intimate partner violence screening, assessment and intervention
- child protection and vulnerable adult assessment and intervention
- individual and family counselling skills
- therapeutic social work
- a commitment to bicultural practice
- knowledge of the emotional and social impacts of changing health status
- experience in service development
- ability to navigate access to a wide variety of resources and support services
- case management skills
The role could also include delivering social work services in termination of pregnancy clinics within the legislative requirements. You will also be required to demonstrate the following:
- A full NZ driver’s license
- 3 years or more experience working in the area of health and disability
- Excellent time management skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Able to establish relationships with local iwi and Maori interest groups
- Able to work with a diverse population with a wide range of ethnicities
- A flexible approach to working within the Hospital system and the community using lateral thinking
