An exciting newly created role that provides the opportunity to make a genuine contribution to our district by developing and supporting communities across the Coromandel Peninsula and growing our social development and resilience activity.

- Build knowledge, capture progress and quantify through tangible outcomes?

This is a challenging and rewarding role for you to be creative and impactful.

You will be leading capability building and understanding of the importance and value of community-led outcomes.

Other aspects of the role include developing strategy for the social and cultural well-being of the communities in the Thames-Coromandel district, considering physical, financial, human, social and environmental sustainability.

The role will partner and build strong relationships with central and regional government and agencies, local iwi, community groups, education and social providers.

**About you**

Desired attributes include:

- A strong understanding of community-led development and local social issues
- Knowledge and understanding of Tikanga Māori and respect for Te Tiriti
- People leadership, lead and enabled a successful team
- Experience in a leadership role, successfully working with diverse communities
- Qualification in Social Science or similar
- Well-developed facilitation, advocacy and lobbying skills
