We are looking for a special someone who can bring our Land Transport Strategic Plan to life by leading and delivering our normal suite of land transport activities This role will be responsible for spearheading the Land Transport function working alongside our experienced team to lead the implementation and delivery of the programme across the complete spectrum of road activities with a focus on quality outcomes for our residents and value for money invested.
The end goal is to achieve a reliable and quality Roading network by delivering high quality contract and project outcomes. In doing this, the appropriate level of service is achieved while striving for best practice and innovation to ensure value for money and affordable to the ratepayer.
**What we offer?**
We can offer you something that isn’t a conventional job. With us you can expect the opportunity to be part of something purposeful and authentically meaningful to both your own values and to those of our community.
In a full on and rewarding environment, we offer the opportunity to grow, develop and and enhance the lives within our communities in ways bigger organisations can’t. Whether you are ready to take your first big step in your career or your final change, we have a culture and an environment that will value and welcome the unique expertise and experiences that you’ll bring. Our focus is to future proof our Council to make sure the decisions we make today can stand the test of time for not only our community as it is today but for our community tomorrow.
**Whats it like?**
We may be a small Council, but we pack some punch. One of only two Councils in New Zealand to hold an ‘AA’ CouncilMARK Assessment, we might be small - but we have big ambitions and high expectations of ourselves and the work we deliver for our community. Being small offers a major advantage that larger councils struggle to offer. We can and do make things happen.
**What you can expect from us**

With absolute clarity in what we want to achieve and where we want to be - you can also expect an urgency to make things happen, and a desire to cut through the noise to empower you to be a continually developing and evolving leader.
**What we expect from you**
In return, we’ll expect from you a genuine commitment and ambition to improve the lives of residents of Tamatea - Central Hawke’s Bay and a willingness to be part of something bigger than yourself.
You'll bring an authenticity and value set as a leader, that will set you apart from the rest and bring your proven experience in a related discipline and demonstrated success.
