Are you passionate about creating safe and sustainable working environments? FMNZ is looking for a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join the team and take charge of our safety programs across all FMNZ locations.  This role has a Health and Safety Auditor and Administrator reporting to them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive health and safety programs to ensure compliance with all regulations and standards.
  • Manage FMNZ's Health and Safety Management System, ensuring it aligns with both company and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain an electronic Health & Safety System (Assura) to streamline reporting and compliance tracking.
  • Perform detailed risk assessments and hazard analysis of all forestry operations, including logging, transportation, and harvesting activities.
  • Design and deliver comprehensive health and safety training programs for all employees, including refresher courses, to ensure ongoing compliance and awareness.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and contributing factors.

About You

  • Proven experience in Health & Safety management within the forestry or related sector.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk assessment methodologies, and safety management systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.
  • Experience with electronic Health & Safety Systems (such as Assura) is an advantage.
