**About this opportunity**

This position coordinates the operational aspects of the production area of responsibility to deliver all agreed targets for the business including EHSR compliance and behavioural excellence, continuous improvement of all aspects of operational excellence including quality, plant reliability, housekeeping, productivity, and waste.

This is a critical role focused on:

- Building a culture where safe behaviour and adherence to site/business policies is part of the everyday
- Working collaboratively with the Site Coordinator to implement best practice operational processes across the Site.
- Creating a work environment that our people are proud of and that rates as our customers’ best supplier
- Enhancing the levels of internal and external customer satisfaction
- Continuously improving overall operational performance levels measured by safe behaviour, quality, plant reliability, machine performance, delivery reliability, responsiveness, and cost control/reduction

Promoting training and development through front line leadership development and succession planning

**Your key responsibilities will be to**:

- Superior housekeeping disciplines including GMP audits.
- Regular training with staff in relation to health and safety initiatives.
- Participation in safety audits and the timely identification and correction of hazards.
- HACCP adherence.
- Active participation in health and safety initiatives and forums.
- Monitor department performance against KPI/ LSW
- Adherence to and assistance with the development of quality standards through effective NCR investigations
- Supporting the machine operators in effective problem solving
- Ensure that machinery production time is maximised through effective communication and collaboration with teams across the business
- Proactively review work systems / standards / practices to identify “best practice” and encourage a culture of solution identification
- Problem identification and analysis, non-conformance reporting and investigation
- Develop a high performing team
- Actively drive performance through coaching and support
- Champion overall performance improvement
- Work with staff to ensure basic disciplines are adhered to
- Manage the effective and efficient utilisation of resources ensuring the manufacturing standards are maintained.
- Manage direct and indirect wage costs through the minimisation of overtime balanced with the need to meet production demands

**Your skills and experience**

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

- Proven exceptional leadership skills - leading, developing and motivating frontline teams is essential
- Proven operational experience in a manufacturing environment coupled with a proven understanding of health and safety and operational excellence as well as continuous improvement techniques and performance
- Proven effective problem-solving skills
