We are looking for an experienced and skilled person that can positively influence, manage, and tailor their communication across a diverse range of team members. This is a hands-on, face to face HR / Compliance role dealing directly with staff, customers and issues as they arise quickly, professionally and with care in a customer-centric environment. It includes and is not limited to;
- Ensure appropriate procedures for recruiting staff is followed utilising reference checking, succession planning, advertising strategies and meeting all legislative requirements.
- Induction, onboarding, training, and development
- Lead and support the Performance Management Program within the store ensuring that Department Managers complete appraisals within agreed timeframes.
- Support ongoing performance management through assisting and advising Department Managers in regard to conflict resolution and disciplinary matters.
- Ensure all Health & safety and Food safety procedures and systems within the store that they are appropriately maintained at a level which ensures compliance in all audits.
- Prepare for and take part in internal (Foodstuffs) and external Food Safety/Health & Safety audits, ensuring satisfactory outcomes.
- Ensure all machinery and equipment is compliant e.g. scales certification / forklift maintenance.
- Undertake hazard reviews and investigate serious accidents. Follow up reports of H&S hazards in the store. Collect and collate accident forms.
- Manage monthly committee meeting process for H&S.
- Food Safety Over seeing and ensuring all Food Safety records and processes meet the requirements of our Food Control Plan. Where discrepancies occur, you are responsible for undertaking the appropriate Corrective Actions which may include retraining of Department Managers and Team Members. Carrying out internal department and store audits.
- Health & Safety
- Investigating accidents, undertaking hazard reviews and working with the Health & Safety Working Group and Management Team to continually develop a 'Safety' culture.

Preferred Qualities
- Formal Training / Degree in Human Resources
- Previous HR experience
- Adaptive and Versatile
- Health & Safety systems knowledge and experience
- Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Desired Qualities
- Food Control Plan Experience
- Retail/food industry experience
Standard Hours; Monday - Friday.
As a 7 day a week business some weekend work and/or contact will be required.
Working with; Owner Operator, Operations Manager(s), Department Managers and Supervisors, Payroll/HR Administrator
