**Team Leader - General, Specialty & Financial Lines Claims**

**We will count on you to**:
**Team Leadership**
- Serve as primary point of contact for members of the Team on all technical issues
- Responsible for maintaining all Workday related HR tasks for the Team
- Manage the workload, priorities, and performance of the Team
- Train and develop new starters in the Team to ensure they are provided with a consistent and comprehensive introduction to the Company and claims function/ procedures
- Proactively maintain an awareness of technical and non-technical learning need trends within the division and work with Learning & Development and other internal resources to close any gaps
- Drives high performance by aligning individuals’ goals to Unit and Company objectives;
- Builds unit capabilities and succession planning through coaching, mentoring and training colleagues;
- Supports effective team communication through regular meetings;
- Identifies opportunities for efficiency improvements within Unit and coordinates implementation of initiatives
- Liaise with and assist the National Manager on all technical and HR issues in the Team

**Client and Broker Service**
- Meets service levels set out in Client Service Agreement;
- Responds to queries from clients and brokers;
- Prepares routine and ad hoc reports including claims trends analysis;
- Prepares quarterly and/or annual claims reviews;
- Attends client meetings;
- Conducts training for clients as required.

**Claims Technical**
- Manages moderate to high complexity claims according to the Company’s processes and client agreements, liaising with the Major Claims Unit as required;
- Liaises with clients, insurers, claimants and external providers;
- Interprets policy wordings and provides recommendations to clients;
- Analyses claims history data
- Arranges/conducts investigations and interfaces with loss adjusters, client and site investigators as required;

**Account Management**
- Drive, where requested, the contract negotiation process for existing and new clients, agreeing service standards and documenting via the client service agreement;
- Manages the client relationship, identifies expectation, resolves servicing issues, is an escalation point for difficulties;
- Prepares routine and ad hoc reports;
- Presents quarterly and/or annual reviews.
- Participate in peer review/ audit process.
- Participate in projects related to continuous improvement and efficiency of the Claims Team

**New and Expanded Business**
- Supports new and expanded business endeavours through provision of claims review data for tenders, renewals and proposals, and participates in client/prospect meeting;
- Conducts and client/broker education presentations;
- Builds and maintains network to keep abreast of industry changes, competitor movements and new and expanded business opportunities;
- Maintains awareness of offerings of other divisions, supports the business’s cross-selling endeavours and makes referrals as appropriate.

**Claims Advisory**
- Drives the settlement negotiation process and negotiates on behalf of client;
- Acts as advocate for the client and determines commercial/technical responses to insurer’s denials of liability;
- Manages external providers (inc legal panel) on behalf of client.

**What you need to have**:
**_ Professional Accreditation/Membership_**
- Tier 1
- Senior Associate member of ANZIIF

**_ Educational Requirements_**
- Diploma Financial Services or Bachelor’s degree
- Studying towards Graduate Diploma Financial Services
- Undertake Company-directed compliance training
