**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Cancer and Blood Research Trials Unit - Manager to join our Cancer services here at Waikato Hospital.

Day to day you will be providing coordination and management of the clinical trials team, engaging with the clinical teams to deliver on ongoing trails and planning for new trials. This is an interesting and varied role and you will be working with a multidisciplinary team, providing support to the clinical teams and having some visitor and patient interaction.

Key responsibilities of the role:

- Accountable for day to day leadership and daily operational management of the team
- Liaise with clinical trial sponsors, clinical research organisations and researchers to deliver the agreed research protocols.
- Oversight of contracts and appropriate management of budget and resources
- Monitor progress of ongoing contract and provide regular reporting.
- Strategic planning for the growth of the trials unit.

**About the Service**

The Cancer and Blood Research Trials Unit is part of the Regional Cancer Centre, associated with a large Tertiary Hospital in Hamilton. You will join a dynamic team of Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Haematologists and Palliative Care Physicians managing all aspects of solid tumours and lymphomas. All services are committed to provide the best care and outcomes for people living with cancer. Our services are led by multidisciplinary clinical teams consisting of doctors, nurses and allied health professionals.

**About you**

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic team leader with:

- Previous experience with clinical trials or finance and contract management.
- Previous experience or exposure to the health environment (desirable)
- Previous experience leading and managing teams
- Stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Project management experience
