**What will you be doing?**

The purpose of this position is to contribute to the success of the TOWER Event Response programme by:

- Providing sound technical building advice to TOWER's Event response team
- Assisting TOWER's Event response team to respond to customer (including their advocates and legal counsel) queries on reinstatement strategies and costs
- Ensuring TOWER's Event response team has a range of expert resources (for geotechnical, structural, design, etc.) for responding to customers experts report and issues
- Ensuring our partners (External Assessors, experts, etc.) are performing and providing good advice to TOWER for resolution of our customer's event claims
- Overseeing the Multi-Unit claims for TOWER customers that are being managed through another insurer/PMO
- Overseeing the event large loss reserving
- Seeking out opportunities (time and cost) for continuous improvement within TOWER's Event response

The Technical Building Manager will work closely with the Claims Event response team and the Internal and External Assessing teams in the review of settlement strategies to ensure fair and reasonable claims resolution for our customers.

The position holder will conduct claims reviews to ensure we are meeting both the customer's needs and fulfilling their policy obligations.

**This is an exciting 6-month fixed-term opportunity**

**What you'll need**

You will bring your attention to detail and ability to maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

**To be successful in this role, you will also be able to demonstrate the following**:

- Insurance industry and building knowledge essential.
- Decision-making, delegation, problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Sound building knowledge, including familiarity with Building Act, Resource Management Act and MBIE guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience working as part of a team to achieve common goals
- Time management and organisational abilities
