Our Palmerston North is currently seeking an experienced Senior Transport Engineer to become an integral member of our Central Transport team.

**Key responsibilities will include**:
Lead and assist with projects, business development and people development including the following:

- Client Liaison - Develop good business relationships with existing and potential clients to ensure required project outcomes are met and client satisfaction is maintained at a high standard
- Business Development - Supports in developing new and repeat business including ability to identify client needs and the preparation of proposals and bids for projects
- Project Management - Proven project management, investigation, design and implementation of a range of multidisciplinary projects
- Mentoring and development - Provide guidance on projects to team members and enthusiastic in facilitating upskilling of the team
- Technical Leadership - Provide technical input and leadership to projects - review QA/QC of project deliverables as Project Manager, Technical Reviewer or Project Director as appropriate
- People Leadership - Focuses on developing our people, providing them with the support and tools to offer innovative solutions for our internal and existing and new clients across the local government and private sectors
- Knowledge - Keep knowledge and competencies current, guide staff and contribute to GHD Global Knowledge Base
- Quality Assurance - Preparation of high-quality deliverables, correspondence and other outputs as required
- Inter Regional Centre Support - Business development; develop new and repeat business from other GHD Regions

**What you will bring to the team**:

- Tertiary qualified with minimum 10 years’ experience in investigation, design and delivery of roading projects
- Contract documentation experience
- Project management expertise
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Good Computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Knowledge and understanding of National standards and guidelines
- Ability to contribute to the growth of GHD’s business
- Ability to work in a team environment and in a team leader role
- Ability to liaise and manage client relationships effectively and successfully
