Te tūranga - The roleWe are seeking a Senior Analyst to join the System Monitoring and Analysis team. The purpose of this team is to monitor the stability and resilience of the financial system, including analysing risks and opportunities as they emerge.This team plays a critical role in maintaining a forward-looking view of the state of financial stability in Aotearoa/New Zealand.As a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for delving into issues related to financial stability. This includes conducting forward-looking research on emerging developments affecting the financial system, and contributing to the publication of the six-monthly Financial Stability Report.Additional responsibilities of this role include:

- Preparing high-quality papers drawing on information from a range of sources to identify and measure risks to financial stability.
- Presenting and communicating your findings in an accessible manner to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Participating in mentoring of analysts to contribute to the team environment, learning, transfer of skills, and staff development.

**Ō pūkenga - About you You will bring to this role**:

- Five years' experience in the fields of banking, insurance, financial markets, macroeconomics, economics, or at other central banks.
- An understanding of the New Zealand financial system, and the interactions between the economy, financial system, and prudential regulation - or a desire to build this.
- Tertiary qualification, with a preference for quantitative fields.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills with an ability to draw insightful findings.
