**He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role**
The primary purpose of the role is to support and manage the Eastern Bay Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) Service Contingency and Rebuild Plan.
The key priorities and expected outcomes that the Programme Manager will support include the following services:
- High quality maternity care
- Safe and timely patient /hapu mama transfers to Tauranga hospital
- High quality Gynaecology care - timely and safe
- Care and support to hapou mam/whanau/patients during the contingency period
- Care and support to staff during the contingency period
- Transparent two way communication with staff, stakeholders and community
Reporting to the Group Director Operations Bay of Plenty Hauora a Toi, the Programme Manager will work alongside Hospital and Specialist Services O&G leadership team, business leaders, Director of Midwifery, midwives both community and hospital based, Hato Hone St Johns and wider stakeholders to provide leadership, advice and guidance. We want to ensure successful and enduring benefits for patients who are embedded within our core business.
The role is based in Whakatāne Bay of Plenty with an expectation to collaborate with and District and Regional teams across Te Manawa Taki.

- Proven leadership and experience in successful programme delivery and change management within Health NZ Te Whatu Ora
- Training in Quality Improvement methodology
- A sound knowledge of hospital and primary care operating environments
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
- Values and behaviours consistent with Health NZ Te Whatu Ora values
- A strong drive to deliver positive outcomes to an integral part of the Eastern Bay of Plenty community and have the stamina required for the role
