The Civil Aviation Authority and the Aviation Security Service offer distinctively different career opportunities and embrace diverse talent. All jobs at the Authority contribute to ensuring safe and secure skies to help New Zealand fly.
The Civil Aviation Authority is the regulatory arm of our organisation and the Aviation Security Service is the nationwide provider for aviation security.
- Coordinate the day-to-day functioning of the organisation's Governance and Secretariat functions with a particular focus on supporting the CAA's Board Secretariat.
- Support implementation of opportunities for process enhancements to administrative systems, tools, and workflows.
- Permanent position, based in Wellington Central.
**Why Join Us**
By joining us, you will be part of a team where meaningful work, collaboration and innovation come together to help keep New Zealand's skies safe and secure.
At the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand, we are constantly evolving to meet the demands of a changing environment and the aviation industry.
Recent legislative changes, along with an organisational realignment, have opened exciting new opportunities across the Authority. These changes are part of a broader effort to better position our teams for the future by enabling us to be more collaborative, efficient and effective in everything we do.
As we step confidently into our role as a modern regulator, we are embracing intelligence-led, risk-based approaches that help us make a real difference for our people and the communities we serve - with a strong value-for-money ethos. We're also committed to enabling aviation participants to support economic growth in New Zealand's aviation sector.

Reporting to the Manager, Governance and Secretariat, you will be responsible for managing the logistics of governance meetings, preparing agendas and documentation, taking minutes, and maintaining accurate records.
Your role will also involve assisting with business planning, performance and risk reporting, and coordinating Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs). You'll foster strong relationships across the organisation, contribute to process improvements, and support with analysis work. Success in this role will require critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
This is a unique coordinator role in that it has reach across the organisation, with a range of internal stakeholders, and variety in day-to-day work.

- Solid understanding of public sector operations and government procedures.
- Experience and/or knowledge of governance boards would be an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver quality outcomes under pressure.
- A proactive, service-oriented approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
- A qualification in business administration, governance, records management, or equivalent practical experience is beneficial.
**About Us**
Our Values - Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Transparency, and Collaboration - represent the standards of behaviour we uphold and guide how we work at the Authority. We embrace diversity and are committed to providing an inclusive environment where our people feel respected, safe, and valued for their unique contributions. We recognise that our people drive our success.
