**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role**

The Governance and Accountability (G&A) team manages the Treasury's governance system to support organisational leadership, enabling effective decision making and informing the Treasury's strategic direction and work programme. We also provide business assurance and lead the delivery of the Treasury's external reporting commitments.

An exciting opportunity exists for an energetic **Advisor** to join our **Governance and Accountability** team. In this role you will have the opportunity to impact the delivery of key accountability products for Treasury.

Working closely with the senior members of the team, you will provide robust advice and coordination on a variety of tasks to make the governance and accountability space hum. Specifically, we want you to be our 'go to person' on all things relating to information requests, corporate policy coordination/review and the final production of top-quality documentation for senior leaders and Ministers.

Providing excellence in governance secretariat support is a key responsibility of the team and you will be integrally involved in this work as we strive towards operational excellence.

To be successful you will bring:

- Experience in providing quality advice and coordination gained from either a corporate services team or policy team
- The ability to think critically, pivot to different challenges as they arise and be mindful of any broader impacts of decisions and how these might be escalated or prioritised
- Understanding of the machinery of government
- Effective planning and organisational skills, including time management and the ability to prioritise work in a results-focused environment
- First-rate communication and relationship management skills
- Resilience, and the ability to be team player who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, sensitive, changeable and ambiguous environment
- Governance expertise for this vacancy is highly desirable.
