**Salary: $ 118,609 - $ 139,540 + superannuation**

**The role | Te tūnga**
This is a fixed term role until 30 June 2026, reporting to the Unit Manager - Customer Services & Support Team 3. As a Principal Analyst, you'll bring deep technical expertise, a passion for improving processes, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes. You'll work independently and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, contributing to strategic initiatives and delivering operational solutions. We're looking for someone who can quickly get up to speed with previous work, identify innovative solutions, and drive efficiencies that help future-proof how Stats NZ responds to international reporting requirements.
This role would suit someone who can bring:
- Solid understanding of data tools, systems, and analytical environments
- Proven experience in process improvement and problem solving
- Hands-on experience with automation and streamlining workflows
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and remain calm under pressure
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills
- Confidence operating across all levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders
- Knowledge or commitment to developing understanding of Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo, Te Ao Māori
- Demonstrated advocacy for, or support of, diversity and inclusion.
