Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role

In this pivotal position, you will provide expert collaborative and analytical skills as a member of the Regulatory Intelligence team and spearhead work programmes that align with organisational strategic priorities. You'll design and deliver regulatory work programmes, guide operational planning, and lead cross-organisational collaboration to ensure strong outcomes for our environment and communities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver analysis that informs future planning and management of risk
  • Collaborate within the organisation and with external stakeholders to deliver regulatory priorities
  • Provide specialist technical expertise and insights to support process improvement and change management initiatives
  • Support the team leader with identifying opportunities for innovation and building capability

Mōu │ About You

You are an experienced regulatory or environmental professional who brings both deep subject expertise and a collaborative, forward-thinking approach. You thrive in complex environments, enjoy working with diverse stakeholders, and are energised by solving challenging problems that have real-world impact.

Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience

Ideally, you'll have a bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Policy, Natural Resources etc.) or other qualifications with experience outlined below.

  • 10+ years' experience in relevant public or private sector fields
  • Strong analytical skills (qualitative and quantitative)
  • Proven success managing complex projects, budgets, and stakeholder relationships
  • Experience coaching and developing others
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate statutory frameworks
