We are seeking a Butcher to join our organisation. As a Butcher, you prepare cuts of meat that have been respectfully butchered. Although the dietary laws regarding meat require it to be slaughtered in a specific manner and that the animal be treated with respect, you rarely perform the actual slaughtering. Your task is to process the meat with skill and care into the most common marketable cuts, such as steaks, chops, etc.

**Responsibilities will include-**
- Prepare special cuts of meat that clients have ordered.
- To prepare beef, pork, poultry, and fish for cookery, one must cut, trim, debone, tie, and grind the meats.
- Prepare and display meat portions and products in a manner that will attract the attention of customers.
- Maintain inventories by estimating requirements and ordering or requisitioning meat supplies.
- Supervise other meat cutters and butchers.
- Keep track of the amount of meat received and distributed to chefs, as well as meat sales.
- Wrap, measure, label, and price meat portions.
- Upon delivery, receive, inspect, and store flesh to ensure its quality.
- Using a boning knife, a skewer, and twine, form, lace, and bind roasts.

**This is a minimum 30 hours per week role**

**Requirement include-**
- Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
- Excellent time management abilities
- Must be NZ resident

**Salary**: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Auckland City, Auckland: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
