**The company and role**

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-risk manufacturing industry, providing strategic leadership and ensuring the organisation meets its core obligations to provide a safe and healthy workplace. Adopting a contemporary approach to safety management, you will deliver a positive cultural and behavioural change.

With a supportive and accessible CEO and Executive Team, this organisation has a genuine desire to develop and innovative. With a head office in Central Auckland and sites throughout the North Island, the role can be based out of the **Waikato, Bay of Plenty or Auckland regions**. Regular travel will be the norm.

Reporting to the GM People, Culture and Safety, the position is a key advisor to the Executive and provides practical and focused advice to the General Managers, C-suite executives, and Operational Managers. Effectively this role is the key interface between the Executive team and Operations.

This is an opportunity to really make your mark and lead a team to truly enhance the operational health and safety systems, processes and behaviours. From a strategic level, providing; governance, strategy, reporting and relationship management, sharing best practice with an innovative, engaging and influential approach.

**Duties include**:

- Develop a long-term safety vision, strategy and objectives
- Create Group annual health and safety improvement plans
- Monitor and report on Group performance, making recommendations and delivering remedial actions
- Coordinate annual audit programmes
- Provide SME to the Board and CE
- Build strong relationships throughout the business, working closely at GM/Executive level

**Skills and experience include**:

- High risk manufacturing background is essential
- Able to develop key-relationships and influence senior leaders
- At least 5-years experience of leading at a senior level
- Demonstrated ability in providing health and safety advice and guidance at all levels, particularly executive and general management level
- Strong analytical skillset, focussing on key information, without getting bogged down in unnecessary detail - determining of accurate root cause/s
- Outcome focussed and results orientated
