Wnh Operations Superintendent

New Zealand Steel, a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueScope, manufactures and markets a range of flat rolled steel products for the building, construction, manufacturing and agricultural sectors. You may know us for our flagship COLORSTEEL® brand.

**What you will be doing**

Based at our Waikato North Head Mine Site, reporting to the Mine Manager. This is a Permanent position, Monday to Friday (8-hour days).

Some of your main duties will include:

- Provide operational leadership to the WNH production team.
- Proactively manage mining, concentration and slurry pumping asset utilization
- Implement the mine plan to ensure production meets budget Tonnes, cost and customer supply contract.
- Proactively drive process plant valuable mineral recovery and business improvement initiatives
- Heavy equipment utilization monitoring
- Mine planning support and plan execution
- Short - medium term production planning
- Resource levelling
- Budgeting and cost tracking

**What you will bring to the role**

We are seeking a driven individual with a focus on building a solid, collaborative and high-performing culture within the WNH Production team. You will have extensive experience in open cut mining with a drive to deliver results. The minimum requirement for this position would be a tertiary degree in mining engineering, geology or relevant. An A-Grade Quarry Manager Certificate is desirable.
