ACC has some exciting work ahead of us, focused on improving the lives of New Zealanders. We are currently ramping up resources to assist with the planning and design phase. This is an exciting time to join the team and influence a significant work programme that will make a real difference to New Zealand.
**Te āhua o Te Tūrunga - The nature of the role**
The **Senior Equity Advisor **is responsible for providing specialist equity advice across all areas of the work programme to ensure the scheme meets te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity commitments in the design and implementation phase.
They will partner with Māori, Pasifika or Disability Engagement Leads taking insights from their engagement activity and then working with the project teams to embed these insights into the design.
A key role for the Senior Equity Advisor is to ensure we deliver on equity design commitments and includes participating in product development within an Agile environment and providing te ao Māori and equity advice for programme strategies and design and implementation.
Senior Equity Advisors will be aligned to one of the following groups and will have general accountabilities and experience as listed below and some more directly relevant to that Equity group:
- Māori
- Disabled people
- Pasifika
**Ngā tino Pūkenga/Wheako - Skills & Experience Required**
All Senior Equity Advisors:
- Experience analysing design outputs, drawing insights from those findings and feeding into design of systems and processes.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building and networking skills and an ability to engage people at all levels.
- Ability to engage in difficult conversations and negotiate and influence where necessary, but not at the expense of the desired outcomes.
- Customer orientation and the ability to assist with the customer experience design process.
- Flexible, collaborative, adaptive, agile, and resilient in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment.
Māori Senior Equity Advisor:
- Competency in te reo Māori with an understanding of Māori culture, values, political and social systems.
- Kaitiaki of tikanga to ensure we are upholding mana and supporting cultural safety
- Demonstrated understanding of mātauranga Māori including an understanding of Kaupapa Māori approaches
Disability Senior Equity Advisor:
- Participation in design sessions within the Disability sector
- Knowledge and understanding of accessibility practices and tools
Pasifika Senior Equity Advisor:
- Participation in design wānanga/fono within the Pasifika sector
