Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Joining our Data and Digital team, you will lead the establishment of our customer engagement structures, processes, and capability.
You will be responsible for collaboratively working in partnership with our customers to ensure that a data and digital roadmap aligned to their strategic business objectives is established and delivered. You will champion digital technology and digital services to ensure their inclusion in the design process for new health investments. You will ensure the timely and successful delivery of data and digital solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
You will also navigate and facilitate between Data and Digital and the customer business area functions in the Ministry of Health, Te Whatu Ora Health NZ, Te Aka Whai Ora, and the wider sector as required.
**Some of your responsibilities will include**:
- Providing thought leadership and senior technical expertise and guidance to inform future decision making for data and digital work programmes to support the delivery of the Government's and Agency priorities and objectives.
- Establishing and maintaining customer technology supplier (vendor) engagement structures, processes and capability as required.
- Being the lead point of contact for the customer in relation to digital and technology transformation and maintaining key relationships with cross-functional data and digital teams to improve the customers experience.
- Working in partnership with the business to lead activities that will focus on delivering improved security and resilience of digital services, strengthened data governance, improved care and equity outcomes and optimising value for money from digital investment

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in ICT and at least five years relevant experience
- Demonstrated digital health experience working at a senior level across complex environments with the ability to identify strategic opportunities and strong risk management skills
- Demonstrated experience working in the health sector in partnership with providers in care settings such as Mental Health and Addiction, Cancer, Ambulance, Primary and community, Māori and Pacific providers
- Proven strategic leadership skills that support project design, development and implementation of ICT projects
- Proven ability to write and talk about complex issues clearly and concisely to a range of audiences
- Strong relationship management skills and experience in engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the Agency and the Health Sector
- Previous work experience in government and knowledge of the health sector would be beneficial for success in this role.
