Kōrero mō te tūranga ' About the role
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is in charge of making sure that PACU is running smoothly. You will work closely with the PACU ACNM to make sure that patient flow through PACU, from operating theatres, is suitably maintained and that staff breaks are being taken appropriately. You will also work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, anaesthetic technicians, ward-based nurses and operating theatre nurses. You will manage any crises that may occur, including short-staffing issues, and may be required to care for post-operative patients even though your primary role is supernumerary to the established roster for the day. The CNC works from 1130-2200 during the week, and on weekends the CNC hours are 0730-1800. With 10-hour shifts, only two are required per week for this part-time position, and you will be part of a team of 3 CNCs within the Wellington PACU.

The Wellington Hospital PACU comprises approximately 45 staff made up of permanent and casual staff that are providing excellent care to post-operative patients. We deal with all major and minor types of surgery, except cardiac.
