The purpose of the RF Engineering Consultant opening with our client is to provide engineering design, consulting, and advice for the planning and design of radio frequency communications systems and solutions, including new transmission site construction.

As an RF Engineering Consultant, you will be responsible for conducting preliminary and detailed design work on relevant RF systems and processes. This involves transforming concept designs into comprehensive solutions ready for customer delivery and/or deployment.

Additionally, you will assist with site surveys, analyze the results, create work instructions, carry out engineering design tasks, collaborate with other technical design teams and engineers, coordinate with key stakeholders such as property teams and the project management office, assess RF infrastructure requirements, and evaluate equipment needs.

Your role will also involve completing or compiling the necessary technical documentation, such as detailed designs and engineering drawings. Moreover, you will be responsible for configuring, integrating, and commissioning RF equipment, including base stations and linking equipment.

Ideally, you should possess technology knowledge encompassing broadcasting, land mobile, VHF and UHF communications, RF linking, and relevant equipment and systems.

**Role Responsibilities**
- Performing specific RF communications engineering design tasks.
- Understanding the equipment specifications and requirements relevant to the design.
- Familiarity with the installation, configuration, and commissioning of RF equipment, such as base stations, linking equipment, and antenna systems.
- Conducting site visits.
- Participating in meetings and workshops specifically related to engineering design tasks.
- Taking ownership of the technical aspects of RF systems, coordinating and consolidating engineering design information from various teams to facilitate deployment and integration of these systems.
- Defining Asbuilt requirements and BOM (Bill of Materials) in relation to the design.

**Other tasks**:

- Proficiently writing technical reports and documents.
- Utilizing engineering planning tools.
- Ensuring services consistently meet high-quality standards while adhering to all of the client's security, health, and safety procedures.

**Skills**:

- A Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or similar tertiary qualification.
- 5+ years of experience in RF engineering design tasks.
- Strong understanding of Radio Frequency systems.
- Proficiency in site surveys and/or fieldwork.
- Proficiency in installing and configuring RF equipment, including base stations, linking equipment, and antenna systems.
- Good technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with team colleagues.

Applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand. This role is paying up to $115,000 depending on experience.
