Fluid Recruitment is proud to partner with an industry leading consultancy in search for an experienced Protection Engineer in our clients Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington, or Tauranga offices.

Our client is a market leading consultancy within the energy sector and provide a range of specialist consulting services across the power sector.

The Role

A key part of the Engineering & Design team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and modelling of our clients' Protection systems.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Curating schemes, settings, models and reports, along with relay configuration for protection relays & RTU's
  • Undertaking concept and detailed design for Protection systems
  • Coordinate with internal & external stakeholders to prepare, review designs, settings, standards, and studies.
  • Partner with the key companies across the energy sector within transmission, distribution, and generation.

About You

To be able to hit the ground running and continue supporting a growing sector, you will have the following experience:

  • Extensive background in the energy sector in New Zealand.
  • Coming from an EDB or a consultancy background, you have a strong background in secondary systems or protection within the electricity industry.
  • Strong track record of delivering technical works and projects to a high standard.
  • A people person with strong technical skills who can communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Currently holding a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
