About Frequency:
Frequency is a New Zealand-owned and operated specialist project advisory consultancy that has been optimising Kiwi infrastructure for over a decade. At Frequency, we work closely in partnership with every client, providing access to experienced, senior people from day one. Our expertise spans multiple sectors, including Education, Transport, Health, Airports, Ports, and Water Infrastructure. We believe it's our responsibility to share real-world knowledge, leaving our clients better equipped to navigate New Zealand's complex project pathways.
The Opportunity:
We're looking for a high-energy Project Manager with a strong infrastructure background to join our dynamic team at Frequency in Auckland. This is a chance to work on impactful infrastructure projects across New Zealand, contributing to outcomes that shape communities and improve lives. Whether you come from a civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering background, we're interested in people who bring six or more years of infrastructure delivery experience and a growth mindset.
We value attitude, leadership potential, and soft skills just as much as technical capability. If you're someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and takes ownership of your work, this role offers a pathway to leadership. You'll be supported to grow, stretch your capabilities, while making a real impact on the projects and people around you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the successful delivery of infrastructure projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Engage directly with clients to understand their objectives, provide ongoing updates, and build trusted relationships.
- Apply your multidisciplinary expertise to oversee design, procurement, delivery, and close-out phases, ensuring best practice project governance.
- Uphold Health & Safety standards, promoting a culture of proactive risk management across all stages of project delivery.
- Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Contribute to internal and client-facing project reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
About You:
- 6+ years of experience in project management or infrastructure delivery, ideally within a consultancy or client-side environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, or related disciplines) or a solid construction background with proven project leadership.
- Demonstrated experience delivering infrastructure projects across sectors such as transportation, water, utilities, or civic works.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Solid understanding of project planning, financial management, contract administration, and risk control.
- A proactive and solutions-oriented approach, capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering to high standards.
- A developing leader that is not afraid to take on responsibility and be accountable for outcomes.
Why Join Our Frequency Whānau?
At Frequency, we believe in the power of genuine, in-person collaboration. Our office-first culture is a cornerstone of how we work. Being physically present enables stronger relationships, supports accelerated learning, and fosters shared energy that drives teamwork and innovation. While we trust our team to work flexibly when needed, our default is working together in the office—where conversations flow naturally, and we can tackle challenges collaboratively.
We also offer:
- 5 weeks of annual leave
- 4% employer KiwiSaver contribution
- Ongoing support for your learning and development, including company-wide forums, individual training budgets and professional memberships.
If you're excited about the opportunity to shape New Zealand's infrastructure landscape and join a high-performing team that's passionate about delivering results, we'd love to hear from you
