About the Role
The Data Centres Operations Enablement Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational enablement activities of all Data Centres in New Zealand and all nominated Australian Data Centres. This role must maintain a strong customer focus and demand the highest standard in customer deliverables through their team to enable a structured and coordinated delivery of projects and tasks at each of our Data Centres.

- Knowledge of project management fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of the data centre core business.
- Deep and broad understanding of the business and technology strategies in which the organisation operates.
- Strategic background, with an ability to grasp the big picture.

Experience
- Experience in Major Incident Management.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the customer services field.
- Strong health and safety focus to enable a positive safety culture.

**Skills**:

- Ability to manage complex issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
- Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
- Prevents erroneous decisions to avoid critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations that may jeopardise overall business activities.
- Ability to frequently interact with a variety of stakeholders and team members, normally involving matters between functional areas, other Datacom divisions, customers and the company.
- Ability to chair meetings and provide leadership in stressful situations caused by tight delivery timeframes.
- Ability to transform customer requirements into a technical solution and work according to deadlines.

Role and Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day work of the Operations Enablement team, including but not limited to:
Project planning and implementation.
Operational work scheduling
Procurement
Capacity management.
- Supporting projects delivered via the Operations Enablement team, determining staffing requirements, engaging appropriate resources, securing appropriate support, and facilitating cross geographic resource alignment.
- Developing and administering schedules and performance requirements, which may include budget responsibilities.
- Collaborating with senior leaders to develop and implement Operations Enablement strategy, in line with broader Datacom Data Centre strategy.
- Supporting and assisting with related organisational changes and activities that are required as an outcome of business improvement activities and ensure ongoing effectiveness of the organisation's change management function.
- Monitoring, measuring and reporting on departmental operational issues, opportunities, development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timelines.
- Continuously seeking opportunities to simplify, streamline or automate processes to the benefit of customers and data centre teams.
- Ensuring that Datacom’s obligations under the terms of the customers’ contract are met.
- Managing and monitoring budgets by tracking and approving expenditures, controlling costs, validating vendor expenses, anticipating and correcting forecasting errors.
- Liaising between customers, data centre product development, sales and operations 24/7 to identify opportunities for support delivery improvements, cost reduction and value-add to the customer/client.
- Managing relationships between project delivery resources, including contractors, data centre operations 24/7, data centre facilities and supplier groups.
- Managing risk and impact of customer change requests, identifying service implications.
- Directing and controlling the service delivery and compliance activities of own area of business unit.
- Adhering to security policies and procedures including incident reporting and attending information security management training as required.
- Implementing a principle driven health and safety culture that cares for employees and ensures their safety in line with Datacom policy.
