Service Station Sales Assistant

**Purpose of role**:
**To provide customers with the best possible service for their fuel and convenience store needs by delivering the required level of customer satisfaction. Always recognise that you are a representative of the company and act in a responsible manner which reflects your representative role.**
**Knowledge/skills/requirements**:
- ** Have a at least 1 year experience retails industry and retail sales**
- ** Have excellent customer service skills and handle customer complaints**
- ** Have effective verbal and listening communications skills**
- ** Have a basic knowledge of service station products such as petrol, oil, LPG and other goods**
- ** Have an excellent understanding of health, safety and HSNO requirements of the service station and convenience store industry**
- ** Have basic mechanical skills**
- ** Have good maths skills**
- ** Must be available to work public holidays and availability to work overtime.**
**Duties/accountabilities**:
- ** Be on site ready for work by the commencement time of your shift, and record hours accurately**
- ** Be dressed in the correct uniform, ensuring the uniform is kept clean and in good repair, and to maintain a high standard of personal cleanliness and hygiene**
- ** Check fuel tank levels through tank dips and reading fuel pumps**
- ** Undertake the hire of trailers and record accurate details**
- ** Process workshop jobs at the till and record accurate details**
- ** Display and present stock in an attractive manner to encourage sales as directed**
- ** Carry out stocktaking of products and/or be available to assist with stocktaking**
- ** Process cash/charge/credit card/EFTPOS/cheque/gift voucher/card sales accurately at the till**
- ** Process receipts on account at the till and record accurate details**
- ** Prepare the site for opening as per company requirements**
- ** As soon as practicable after the beginning of each shift, undertake the appropriate tasks.**
- ** Making sure site is kept clean all**
- **Minimise and report all drive offs and accidents that occur to the Shift Manager**
- ** Ensure that at the end of each shift the tasks as required are undertaken**
- ** Accurately and fully complete paperwork required such as the wet-stock accounting sheet at the end of each shift, and to provide where necessary suitable explanations for any large stock variations**
- ** Balance till beginning and end of each**
- **Ensure the till area is not left unattended when people are in the shop and to make sure that the till drawer is closed securely after each transaction**
- ** Sign off the till and EFTPOS terminal at the end of the shift ensuring that all required reports are completed.**
- ** Telephones must be answered as instructed, ensuring helpful and courteous manner**
- ** Willingly undertake all training required by the company and attend training courses as directed and keep up to date with relevant information as required**
- ** Train other employees as directed by the Shift Manager**
- ** Adhere to all health, safety and security procedures established on site**
- ** Report all accidents, injuries and incidents to the Shift Manager as soon as practicable but no later than the end of your shift.**
- ** Report to the Shift Manager any damaged equipment require maintenance or are dangerous.**
- ** Undertake any other duties other than already listed, as may be directed by the Shift Manager or their nominee.
