Do you have a background in planning or in a technical regulatory environment? Are you technically minded with an eye for detail?

We are looking for a Planning Technician to be responsible for providing technical support for the processing of resource consents, subdivision consents and building consents. You'll be part of a motivated team helping to make a difference to our City.

**About the role | Ko te mahi nei**
- Providing assessments and advice relating to potential breaches of the District Plan and Resource Management Act.
- Provision of advice to the public relating to the District Plan, Resource Management Act and the resource consent process.

**About you | Ko Koe Tēnei**

Strong communication skills are a must for this, as you will need to be able to adjust your language to suit different audiences and their varying knowledge levels. You will be able to confidently interpret complex documents (e.g. District Plan, Legislation) and case law to make justifiable decisions. You will also have:

- Experience in regulatory or compliance environments.
- Customer service experience.
- The ability to write clear, concise reports and letters.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Practical experience reading building plans.
- Experience with the Resource Management Act and the resource consent process in previous roles preferred.
